Frequently Asked Questions

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle, natural form of energy healing that works with the body’s own energy to promote balance, relaxation, and inner peace. It is a non-invasive practice that can support physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Reiki is not affiliated with any religion, and it does not involve the use of any substances or manipulation. It simply channels life force energy (also known as “chi” or “prana”) to help clear blockages and restore flow.

What does Reiki feel like?

Every experience is unique! Some people feel warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, or even emotional release during a session. Others may simply feel peaceful or refreshed. Reiki meets you exactly where you are—there’s no “right” way to experience it.

Is Reiki safe?

Yes—Reiki is completely safe. It can never be used to cause harm. Reiki is guided by divine, universal energy that only flows with pure, healing intention. It cannot be used to control, manipulate, or negatively affect others. It’s a loving practice that works for the highest good of the receiver.

Is Reiki evil or against religion?

This is a common misconception—and one I’m passionate about clearing up with love and respect. Reiki is not evil, nor is it witchcraft or a dark spiritual practice. It is the complete opposite: Reiki is rooted in light, peace, compassion, and healing. It does not conflict with any religion or belief system.

In fact, many people who follow a faith or spiritual path feel that Reiki deepens their connection to God, the Universe, or their higher self. It’s simply a way to support the body’s natural ability to heal.

Can Reiki replace medical treatment?

Reiki is a complementary healing practice. It can work beautifully alongside medical care, therapy, and other wellness practices—but it is not a replacement for professional medical treatment. If you're dealing with a health condition, it's always important to continue working with your doctors and healthcare providers.

Do I have to believe in it for it to work?

Nope! Reiki doesn’t require belief—just an open heart and willingness to receive. Even if you're skeptical or unsure, Reiki will still work at the energetic level. Many people who were unsure at first come away from their session feeling surprised by how peaceful and supported they feel.
